The National Testing Agency conducts the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE-Main), formerly known as the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) (NTA).  Introduced in 2002 and given a new name in April 2013 for admission to a number of undergraduate engineering and architecture degrees at a number of institutions, including the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and National Institutes of Science and Technology (NISTs).
