Professional abilities would be assessed at various levels from Foundation to Final, progressing from "knowledge and understanding" through "application and analysis" and "evaluation and synthesis." For a Chartered Accountant candidate, the CA final is the penultimate stage to pass. After passing the Intermediate level, the student moves on to the final stage of CA, the CA Final Course. There are two groups in the Final Course: Group I and Group II. Four core papers make up Group I, whereas three core papers and one elective paper make up Group II.
