Java is a language. Collection of tools to carry out lots of different tasks. Now those different tools are categorised into two categories :

• Core : The basic fundamental tools.
• Advanced : The advance tools that are composed of the basic tools.

Core Java is the basic language building blocks that made up the language and the various other additional features that Java either improved compared to it’s predecessors or added to make java more robust. Core java is basically getting familiar with the language.

Advance java covers the tools that are used to make specialized programs/applications. Like a two-tier client server programs. programs that runs on the server.
