Scratch is a programming language designed to help educate children and adults about programming concepts and actions. It is the latest in a range of educational tools stretching back to Logo in the 1960s. The logo was a great idea because it is easy for children to understand that their programming actions have real-world effects moving an electronic mouse around. Scratch is similar in concept, except you are constructing computer animations. It is based on Smalltalk object-oriented programming language and intends to introduce OO ideas in a fun way.
