Location Facts

We’re located in Salford, a city in Greater Manchester which is in the Northwest of England. Our main campus is just minutes away from Manchester city centre. 

Travelling to and from Manchester city centre, or anywhere in the UK and abroad is super easy. Manchester airport is only a 30-minute train ride away, and from there you can fly to hundreds of countries across the world. 

You can use buses, trams, taxis, trains, e-scooters, or you could just walk. We even have a train station right here on campus, and a free bus that connects our Peel Park campus with our MediaCity campus.


Manchester Metropolitan University is located in the centre of Manchester, England. The university had seven campuses which were merged into one. 


Library

With more than four million printed books and manuscripts, over 50,000 unique electronic journals and 800,000 electronic books, as well as several hundred databases, this is one of the best-resourced academic libraries.


The university library provides books, e-books, journals, laptops, publications etc.

But what does that mean? askUS helps you with lots of different things, from advice on managing your money and identifying bursaries you may be eligible for, to connecting with diversity support, looking after your wellbeing, exploring and practicing faith, and finding a job.
  • Our on-campus Sports Centre has five fitness suite rooms, a 25 metre pool, dance studio, 30+ fitness classes a week, six court sports hall, two squash courts, health hub, floodlit 3G pitch and two grass pitches. Membership starts at £13 a month, or you can pay as you go.
  • There's something for everyone across all three campuses; from our vegan counter at the restaurant on Frederick Road campus, to Subway, Costa cafes and an outdoor street food trailer on Peel Park campus, as well as a Starbucks cafe at MediaCity.
  • The University of Salford Students' Union (USSU) is there to represent your academic interests and make sure every Salford student’s experience is the amazing, life changing experience it should be! A democratically run charity, independent of the university, run by students and working entirely for students.
  • We’ve partnered with Umii, a new app which connects students based on shared interests, course and society preferences, so it’s easy to get to know people even before you start.

The student union is the voice of the student and it houses various facilities like hosting events, online shopping, more than 100 student clubs and organizations etc. Various dining spaces and cafe are also available for the students to eat and rejoice. The university caters to all sporting tastes and abilities for staff and students at Manchester Met. It boasts of state-of-the-art facilities, support elite athletes, top-class teams and offer a wide range of sport and fitness opportunities.
