The university maintains over 1.6 square kilometres (395 acres) of grounds, in four distinct campuses: Whiteknights campus is the largest and London road campus is smallest. Another campus is located in Greenland and the final one is in Malaysia.

Library

At Reading, the University Library and Collections Services provide vital support for students, researchers and staff, complementing academic activities. The library arrange access to the world of information – whether online, multimedia or in print – and the training and support to exploit it to the full.


 Library resources (print or electronic) includes books, articles, scores, TV/film, research publications, theses and dissertations, special collections and our unique archive materials.

They work with faculty to ensure that the collections reflect the needs of our community and engage students through social media and projects such as the Student Curator initiative.


Campus Life

The main Whiteknights campus is set in 130 hectares of parkland where students can enjoy a safe, community environment. The campus is on the doorstep of Reading, a diverse and welcoming town, and is in easy reach of London and the English countryside. The University of Reading Students' Union has its own café and bar, along with a nightclub, 3sixty. Reading has nearly 5,000 rooms, including adapted rooms for students with disabilities and special requirements.There's a variety of room types including en suite, with both catered and self-catered options. Reading University Students' Union (RUSU) runs more than 130 sports clubs and societies, and hundreds of volunteering projects. RUSU is home to a café, bar, nightclub, food store, hairdresser, letting agent, and mail and binding shop. The Students’ Union has its own student-run newspaper, radio station, and online TV channel, and hosts events year-round. Part-time work on campus is available through Campus Jobs. There’s also a paid undergraduate research opportunities programme. Part-time retail, hospitality and care roles, as well as tutoring opportunities, are available in and around town. Reading’s award-winning Careers Service advertises roles via My Jobs Online, and runs Jobs Fest in September/October each year.


Surrey is known to emphasise the social life of students and always care about how you spend your free time at University. The student union offers more than 160 societies based on any hobbies and interests students have and clubs for all kinds of sport that a student might want to take up.

The Students’ Union is 7th in the country and plans some of the most exciting events around. 

StagTV is the television station run by students at the University of Surrey. It is primarily run from offices on the main Stag Hill campus and it also creates content for the Students' Union, through which it is a constituted group, but has editorial independence
