USICT offers a supportive learning environment with a faculty-to-student ratio of about 1:25. The teaching staff is generally good, though newer and older professors may vary slightly in approach. The course includes mid-semester exams and an end-semester exam, with a difficulty level that is manageable, allowing students to prepare within a few days. Although the curriculum is updated, it might not fully align with the standards of IITs or NITs. In terms of placements, 2022 was a successful year with a highest package of 45 LPA and an average of 12 LPA, with about 95% of students securing jobs. In 2023, placements saw a decline, with the highest package at 23 LPA, an average of 9 LPA, and around 70-80% of students placed. Major recruiters include Adobe, Amazon, Rapido, Infosys, and TCS. Internships begin from the third year, with over 180 offers from companies like Amazon, Adobe, and DE Shaw, offering stipends up to 80,000. USICT is a state government college with affordable fees. Currently, B.Tech students pay INR 132,000 in the first year, decreasing to INR 120,000 from the second year, a rise from fees in 2020 and 2021. Scholarships offered include the Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) scholarship from the third year, as well as government scholarships for EWS, SC/ST categories, and income-based scholarships for families earning less than 5 LPA.
