About RMKEC

Established in the year 1995, R.M.K. Engineering College is situated in a picturesque environment at Kavaraipettai, Gummidipoondi Taluk at a distance of 30 km from Chennai Tamil Nadu.The College is managed by Lakshmikanthammal Education Trust.

The objective of the trust is to foster Technical & Higher education, Training & Research in various branches of Engineering and Science & Technology. At the same time, the emphasis is to inculcate among the youth, a sense of discipline to mould them as professionals with integrity and character.
RMK Engineering College has been in the forefront, to provide the students with Practical, relevant and applied education , by implementing its successful educational approach in the college.
Spread across 60 acres of lush green environment, the college has excellent infrastructure facilities including adequate class rooms and seminar halls for respective departments.
The college has a fleet of 80 buses for transportation of students. The number of students per class is 40 till second year to maintain a healthy Student to Faculty ratio.

What Students Say?

Campus environment is so good , well disciplined there is no unwanted activities in our college.
The thing which is like the most is the faculty members, they were so kind and helping.
Placements provided by college, most of them who choose for placements get placed
The Security in the campus are so strict that we feel safe.
I like the faculties who are very motivating and guiding and kind personalities
Faculty is well trained and well mannered, food is in super quality.
Food is preferably good in the campus as compared to other colleges.

Dislike

These syllabuses are very outdated; practically, we are learning what someone should have learned in the late 90s.
There were very few placements for other departments, making it difficult for all students to get placed.
I dont know any scholarships regarding academics. Maybe it is only for Tamil Nadu residents. For other state quotas, there are no scholarships available for students. Mostly, I have very little information relating to this.
We only go to play for two weeks once. It was very bad at my college.
Nope, there is nothing. There are a few things that may be perceived as bad, but they are not necessarily bad. They are more like old rules, albeit professional rules.

I just have a pass mark in 12th grade. There is no entrance exam. I just applied to the Tamilnadu Engineering application (TNEA). And I pay 5000 rs for the application process. And I just selected and college. There is no need for any improvement everything is fine.

Eligibility of the course: I have opted for ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering). It requires an average percentage of 60-70 in Physics Chemistry and Mathematics in the HSC Examination. I would say that this is one of the best disciplines in engineering which could pave the way for more career opportunities. We can find the application form while applying for Open Window Selection at Anna University. Reservations are allocated as per Government norms.
