The Master of Arts in History (called Joint Master’s Program or JMP) is offered jointly by the History Departments of The University of Winnipeg and the University of Manitoba. The program prepares students to undertake independent research and place their findings within their historical context, and ensures that they acquire a comprehensive knowledge of at least two areas of historical study.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

  • For TOFEL achieve minimum score of 86 with no less than 20 in each component;For IELTS Minimum score band should be of 6.5 based on academic module; For CAE minimum of garde C is required; For MELAB minimum score of 80%;CAEL-CE  minimum score of 60 is accepted;PTE minimum score 58 is accepted.
  • For admission into any stream, the candidate must hold a BA Honours degree or equivalent in History with at least a ‘B’ standing, or a grade point average of 3.0. Students admitted to the Archives Program must have attained the equivalent of a B+ standing; b) Students who lack this qualification, but have an acceptable general degree with a History major (and grade point average of 3.0 in their History courses) are generally admitted to the Pre-Master’s Program.
