Dalhousie University offers a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering for a duration of 5 years.
It is an on-campus, co-op program offered on a full-time basis.
Dalhousie Electrical Engineering students are empowered with the highly-technical skillset required to thrive in a field of constant change.
With practical knowledge applicable to almost all modern industrial and commercial technology, Electrical Engineering co-op students are capable of incorporating new technology, resolving existing problems, working harmoniously in teams.
Students get the opportunity to choose a 5-year co-op program or the 4-year non-co-op program.
Co-op students take the same academic program as the non-co-op program. The co-op option gives students an opportunity to complement their studies with 3 paid work terms.
Students have to complete some additional courses prior to the 2 work term. These courses are:
- Power Systems 1
- Analog Electronics
- EM Waves and Propagation
- Communication Systems
- Modern Control Systems
- Electrical Engineering Design 2
Years 1 and 2 follow the core Engineering program. A substantial part of the work in the first and second year is made up of core classes common to all engineering disciplines.
students will apply to their preferred discipline in the winter term of the first year and the elective classes taken in the second year will depend on student's selected discipline.
The program comprised of approximately 95 faculty members and 45 staff members.
The professors provide students with real-world experience through participation in faculty research projects.
Job opportunities after BEng Electrical Engineering are Hardware Engineer, Design Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer, etc and the average salary goes up to 47,000 USD.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have a GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale.
Students must have completed their following Grade 12 subjects with a minimum overall average of 70%.

- Academic Chemistry 12
- Academic Physics 12
Students also have to complete one additional academic subject in Grade 12.

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:

Indian School Certificate (CISCE)

Online application form and fees: Students have to fill the online form and submit the application fees.
Resume: Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience.
Two Professional References: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics and that references should submit along with the application system.
Transcripts: Students have to submit transcripts from all universities/colleges attended, World Education Services Assessments, and English Language Proficiency test scores
Confirmation of Employment Form: Students must be emailed as an attachment by applicant or referee.
Proof of name change: Required only if name discrepancies exist between transcripts/assessments/test scores and other application documents. Examples of proof: Marriage/divorce certificates, 2 copies of government-issued ID that include a previous and current name and date of birth.
