Dalhousie University offers a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering for a duration of 5 years.
It is an on-campus, co-op program offered on a full-time basis.
Chemical Engineering combines the principles of mathematics, chemistry, and physics with engineering practices in order to improve the human environment.
The first and second years of study are common to all engineering students. Students will choose to focus on a specific engineering discipline in their third year of study.
Students have the option to choose to complete the 5-year co-op Program or the 4-year non-co-op program.
Co-op students take the same academic program as the non-co-op program, however, the co-op option gives students an opportunity to complement their studies with 3 paid work terms.
Work terms begin in student’s third year and typically last four months.
Years 1 and 2 follow the core Engineering program. A substantial part of the work in the first and second year is made up of courses common to all 10 engineering disciplines.
Students can apply to their preferred discipline in the winter term of the first year and the elective classes taken in the second year will depend on the student's selected discipline.
The Faculty of Engineering has approximately 100 faculty members and 50 staff members across the departments.

Academic Eligibility:

Students must have completed their following Grade 12 subjects with a minimum overall average of 70%.

- Pre-calculus Math 12
- Academic Chemistry 12
- Academic Physics 12
Students also have to complete one additional academic subject in Grade 12.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
Indian School Certificate (CISCE)
Or, another Senior Secondary School Certificate awarded after standard XII

Online application form and fees: Students have to fill the online form and submit the application fees.
Resume: Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience.
Two Professional References: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics and that references should submit along with the application system.
Transcripts: Students have to submit transcripts from all universities/colleges attended, World Education Services Assessments, and English Language Proficiency test scores
Confirmation of Employment Form: Students must be emailed as an attachment by applicant or referee.
Proof of name change: Required only if name discrepancies exist between transcripts/assessments/test scores and other application documents. Examples of proof: Marriage/divorce certificates, 2 copies of government-issued ID that include a previous and current name and date of birth.
