University of Toronto's Engineering Science program is one of the most rigorous engineering programs throughout the world, and I wanted some challenge for myself.

Course Curriculum

7

Most of our courses are still pretty basic in the first year, but they all offer connections to current researches and industries.

Exams

For Application, I only had to submit my high school grades and a collection of my extracurricular activities. Yes, I had one virtual interview that tested my thought process by solving math problems related to real life. My suggestion is to not overthink the questions and answer by instinct, stay true and it will turn out good.

Placement

7

It's really hard to get a job, especially in the first year because we are a very large school and only a limited amount of opportunities. I am not very clear about the stats but I personally had 2 interviews that did not result in a job offer.

Internship

I did opt for my school's PEY Co-op program, but I haven't started it yet.

Fees

For international students, tuition fees are about 60k per year.

Scholarship

I was awarded the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering Admission Scholarship. There was no extra application required.

Faculty

7

The faculties were really nice and helpful. You can ask almost any question and they will always give you their best advice/suggestions.

Hostel

7

I did opt for accommodation within campus. The building was originally a hotel. Each room has 2 double beds (for 2 people) and a bathroom. Meal plans are mandatory. There are several music rooms, a gym, and a dance studio inside the building. There is also a laundry room available. The cost was 17k per year.
