Tania Review at Humber College, Toronto | Collegedunia

Life of an Indian in Canada

T
6.5 /10

I am a student from Mumbai who has done her graduation in bachelors of mass media specialising in advertising. I further worked in the same field and really enjoyed it. My will to learn more about this field led me to study this course which was available in Humber college. The course and the college both are pretty remowened and are located at a prime location in Toronto which increases scope for job opportunities leading me to take this decision. I got to know about this college through my career counsellor and then personal research was done. It had an application fee for $100 which I had to pay to be considered for admission.

Course Curriculum :

It is good so far. It gets a little hectic at times but there's a lot of learning.

Exams :

This program was related to my field of work so I went for it. Also, this program has a high placement rate and is a course loved by top recruiters. Also I spoke to a few alumini who had really positive opinions about the course. I just had to give the ielts exam in which I scored 8 bands. I didn't have to give any other exam.

Placement :

.

Internship :

No it doesn't. Students are supposed to find internships on their own. However, even though there is no formal placement opportunity, there still are a lot of references given by professors who can be followed up with.

Events :

We have multicultural events ranging from Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve.

Fees :

The fees was $9000 per semester. International scholarship was very limited. However, fees in Canada is much lesser than other countries like UK and Australia which is also a reason why me and a lot of other students consider Canada as an option to study and work in even after the harsh weather conditions that it has.

Examination Structure :

Exam structure is a mixture of theory and practical projects

Faculty :

The factuality is great with High level industry professionals teaching subjects. It is fun and involves lot of practical work to do which makes it more fun.

Hostel :

I stayed off campus close to college since the college residence was too expensive. I wish they made it cheaper. Staying on campus makes commuting much easier. The rent is very expensive so working is necessary.
