- Students will also advise medical practitioners and other healthcare professionals on the interactions and side effects of medications, medication selection and dosage, and a range of other health-related issues.
- During thecourse, student will develop knowledge and skills in the basic sciences plus:
- pharmaceutics
- pharmaco-therapeutics and pharmacy practice
- decision-making skills to identify and manage complex therapeutic problems within a multi-disciplinary health-care team
- the ability to develop an individual health-care plan for patients with complex conditions, focusing on self-management
- practical communication skills for professional pharmacy practice
- enabling essential information transfer between pharmacists and their patients, and their colleagues, and other health-care professionals, to achieve positive health outcomes for individuals and communities according to 'best practice' standards.
