I chose it as it was close by, convenient and had a high standard of education. One of the better universities to learn my course. Also, many of my friends attended the same university so it was an attractive choice for social reasons too.

Course Curriculum

8

It was pretty good and allowed students to have a broad range to learn from. The core subjects gave a good foundation to give us a good picture of what commerce was like. The curriculum was also quite flexible and gave students the opportunity to try other things outside their major.

Exams

The exam I took to get into university was VCE. During the university course, I did not take specific tests to test my ability level, however, for chinese, I did complete a proficiency test called HSK level 1 scoring 90%.

Internship

There are internship opportunities but those are given based on a selection process and are not compulsory. The one I completed was voluntary and was unpaid but was given credit. However, I really enjoyed the experience as it gave me insights into the workplace.

Fees

The fee was paid per unit on a semester basis. There were also student amenities fees which were a few hundred.

Scholarship

Yes, I had scholarships for study tours. I applied online and many only required submission of grades and maybe a short paragraph detailing the need for the scholarship.

Examination Structure

Exams were at the end of each semester and the dates and venue were decided by the University and all students were informed of their exam timetables at the same time. The majority of the exams took place at another campus so it was a little inconvenient.

Faculty

8

The faculty was pretty good but did have some shortcomings due to lack of responsiveness at times. In general, we were all provided for and there were also many events to help support students.

Hostel

6

I stayed at home for the duration of my study and therefore no accommodation costs were involved. However, there were many on-campus residences available at different price points. Some included food as well or had ensuites, therefore bring more expensive.
