Since I really wanted to study in Brisbane, I only applied for colleges that are located in Brisbane city and ACU is one of those. Out of my first 4 preferences, ACU was the one that accepted my application. I also chose this uni as their graduates have a high employment rate and they have programs that help you find a location for your medical placements.

Course Curriculum

The teaching is great and they guide you along the way. Especially in labs, most of the assistants push you to do your best.

Exams

I joined this program as I wanted to do medicine after I graduate and thus am doing this as a premed course. Also, they ensure that each class only has a certain number of students to ensure that they can give a sufficient amount of assistance and attention to every student. Lastly, most of the exams are 40% which already gives you a chance to pass the unit even before sitting the test.

Internship

As I am only a first-year student, I haven't touched on the placements yet as I don't do until I'm in my 3rd year. However, with the job opportunities, I can say that most of the people working there are students from the campus.

Fees

I am currently on a loan called HECS-HELP. There are a lot of scholarships available for International Applicants for all of their campuses. Specifically for international students, they need to pay their tuition at the start of the semester. However, if they change their mind, they can drop out before the census date without paying anything.

Faculty

Yes, our campus has a clinic hence people in the medicine area can be offered some internship opportunity. There is also an on-campus job where you can work as a retail assistant at the cafeteria or the book shop. You can choose your hours and they have a minimum payment of around $30.

Hostel

Since our campus does not have any accommodation, I currently live at Student One. They welcome International Students and it is very convenient as it located in the city 5 minutes away from Central Station where you can hop off at Toombul or Northgate station where an ACU shuttle bus will take you to the unit.
