Good University

8.7 /10

A good community of students, a great location. I was very happy to be accepted into it so I took it. It was my first choice and I was thrilled. Since then I am very grateful that the staff has been so amazing.

Course Curriculum :

Good, sometimes quite repetitive. I do enjoy many of the assessments but I sometimes am not sure how helpful they will be once I leave. It's difficult because the curriculum is mostly ensuring that we will be able to teach not if we are good teachers.

Exams :

I took the WACE exams in 2017, I haven't had to take anymore however I will have to soon take the LANTITE test.

Placement :

Again the placements are very good. We seem to be known to be highly regarded in terms of job recommendations.

Internship :

Not that I know of. They have a very good practicum record though. We do more than every other college that I know of. It makes our degrees a bit longer but it is worth it and we are then more ready for the workforce.

Events :

A lot of Catholic events: Easter, Christmas, Yoga parties, Lent, Mental health week, Aboriginal rights days, Blessing of hands, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Labour day. I'm glad we have such a wide range of holidays and celebrations.

Fees :

I'm under HECS thankfully. My degree will be quite expensive though, probably around 40000 dollars by the end of it.

Scholarship :

I am using HECS currently and I was also given a 3000 immersion grant last year to travel. I have used the money now, however.

Examination Structure :

Ok, sometimes very tedious and the exams are very hard. Often I don't think they are correctly assessing knowledge. I would prefer practical exams or possibly exams. Often the structure is confusing this is very hard to score well.

Faculty :

Amazing! Staff are all so lovely and seriously seem to care for us. They get to personally know you and care about how you are going. They all seem quite friendly but there are a few who aren't.

Hostel :

I am living at home, which is good. I do have to pay board, however. I do lots of jobs to earn my keep and I am often a burden on my parents. I will have to move out of home however For my prac placement.
