How Do I get Nominated by New South Wales?

Each State and territory government agency has its own set of requirements, so you’ll have to read through their own pages to find out what kind of migrants they’re searching for. To register for Regional NSW, you must first:

  1. Inform the NSW Government of your intent to apply for the 491 visa by submitting and expression of interest (EOI) via SkillSelect.

As part of your EOI, you may be required to complete a skills assessment or relevant points exam. This must have been obtained within the three years since your invitation was granted. If your assessment was for a shorter time period, it must still be active when you submit your EOI. If you are on a student visa, your qualification must be from a CRICOS-registered programme.

There is no fees for this and your EOI can be completed totally online.

  1. Submit a ROI at a specified submission time.

The current submission period will end on January 31, 2022. You can register your interest in this visa by filling out this form.

Even if you’re skilled in more than one of the listed vocations, you can only register your interest in NSW nomination once during a submission session. If you are not chosen this month, you can always submit a fresh ROI during a subsequent submission session. You must also choose the NSW Region you want to apply to.

  1. Get an invitation to apply.
  2. Within 14 days of getting your invitaion, apply to the RDA Office in your desired location.
  3. Include supporting documentation with your application for all claims in your NSW ROI and SkillSelect EOI.
